Fifty years later it is almost impossible to remember how it was to only have three television networks in the U.S. Everybody, but everybody, was watching Ed Sullivan that fateful night.
I had also forgotten that the Beatles were on Sullivan less than three months after the Kennedy assassination, so that the U.S., in so many ways, found its way forward from Camelot to Strawberry Fields via the monstrously popular new foursome!
