Psalm 100:4, “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”
Hopefully no one just read that verse while thinking, “Oh great, another commandment. I am commanded to praise God and thank Him for what He has done . . .”
I hope in this new year that all of us who belong to Jesus are praising Him for who He is and thanking Him for what He has done.
I hope there are no sour lemon faces among us, testifying to people everywhere that we think Christianity is drudgery. Or worse yet, that we think it is drudgery but we are hanging in there because we think God will reward us for martyring ourselves with the drudgery of serving Him!
God came to earth to save a fallen, undeserving race. Such joy!
God, in Christ, will enter the trembling, insufficient heart of any fallen human who asks Him to do so. Such joy!
A whole new year to tell others about this and bring them to heaven with us. Such joy!
