Name the Second-Biggest News Story of November 22, 1963

Did you get it?

If the Kennedy assassination had not taken place that day in Dallas, the world would remember that it was the day C.S. Lewis died.  (Sidenote:  Shakespeare and Cervantes died on the same day, too, if you allow for the fact that one of their countries was on the Eastern calendar at the time and one was on the Western calendar.  The greatest English writer ever and the greatest Spanish writer ever.  I have always found that astonishing).

So, while we in the States are commemorating our anniversary on the 22nd, England will be commemorating theirs, by including C.S. Lewis in the Poets’ Corner memorials in Westminster Abbey.

Several poets/writers/artists are actually buried there, but many are memorialized.

Glad he is joining that number.
