Women’s Thursday: What about Cults That Exaggerate Submission?
I don’t think it is any secret that some so-called Christian churches that actually may speak of salvation “by grace through faith” push an extreme theology of works. A subset of these churches pushes an extreme theology of works plus submission onto its female populace. And they don’t teach any ordinary Biblical submission. No, rather than teaching that a woman should submit to her own husband, as Paul clearly says, they teach that every woman should submit (if not cower) before every man.
This post shows anger with such movements, but some righteous anger is warranted at such a distortion of God’s pure Word.
